Popedia has had a series of isolated, politically-charged incidents over the past two months and despite repeated warnings over the need to respect beliefs that differ from your own, we are still seeing comments from people who are continuing to resort to attacking others through petty, hate-filled insults. This isn't acceptable. Calling someone a "homophobe" due to the fact that they are Christian is a completely low act.
Let me make this clear; from now on, people who personally attack others simply on the basis that they have different political/religious views will face tough punishments or potentially even permanent bans if they already have a history of such behaviour.
If you're unsure as to whether the content you are posting is considered appropriate, it's simple; DON'T POST IT. Keep your opinion to yourself.
You're not always going to agree with the beliefs/views of another person, but that doesn't give you the right to use hate speech or insults against them. We each have different beliefs and viewpoints. That's what makes us people.
Here on Popedia, we encourage constructive debate and discussions over a wide range of topics, including religion and politics. Furthermore, there's nothing wrong with actually having a debate over a religious or political topic, bearing in mind that it is kept within reason. Popedia is a community where people from all walks of life should feel at home and free to express their own personal views. It doesn't matter whether you are a Christian, Buddhist, Catholic or a member of a minority religious group. Regardless of your political and religious standings, you have every right to share your views without being personally attacked, and Lyndialy is free to do that. Debate, not retaliate.
These points are now addressed in the Rules & Guidelines of the forum and the Popedia Staff will be keeping a very close eye on religious and political discussions which occur on Popedia from now on.
