I'm mostly into non-fiction these days as I don't have endless time to just sit and get through a book chapter by chapter. Recent book series I've read have been Peculiar Children and the first couple books from The Expanse by James S.A. Corey. Yep, same. I always tried to force myself to read more fiction because I had this notion that it would make me more creative in my own writing and it would be more relaxing - not really the case. I read tons of books, it's hard to pick a favourite! In terms of non-fiction, the books that moved me most were 28 Stories of AIDS in Africa by Stephanie Nolen, and Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick. In general, I like reading about contemporary issues in other countries. I might be a genre junkie for books about North Korea, because I read tons of them to the point they've actually become a bit repetitive and don't have a lot of new information to me anymore In terms of fiction, I love the Song of Ice and Fire series, with Book 3 (A Storm of Swords) being my favourite. Yeah, I know, I'm not very original, it was a good book though. Others I would consider favourites would be Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and A Brief History of 7 Killings by Marlon James. Americanah is set in Nigeria-USA from an Nigerian/African immigrant's perspective, and A Brief History of 7 Killings is set in Jamaica/USA, so those books also had the "set in a foreign country" thing going for them, which is probably why I enjoyed them.

I'm more into comics and manga, but there's 2 books that are close to my heart:
The Unwanteds and The Good Thief
These are books I read back in high school, when I was being bullied. It kept me looking forward to something and helped me cope.

Diary of a wimpy kid i had a do it yourself book once. Do you think the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are better than the movies? I've watched the first three movies, however I have never read any of the books.

I probably didn't go looking for them though as they were actually bought for us (me and my brothers) anyway. 😁 I used love reading them along with the tapes. I think I played them that many times they were starting to wear out considerable by the time I grew out of them! 😜

I can remember book cassette sets as well, from when I was a toddler. I think I only ever owned one or two and I know for a fact that they weren't Disney sets. To be honest, I was never really a big fan of Disney books/movies when I was a kid.
