Nintendo 64 (late 1990's - mid 2000's; December 2012 - mid 2018)
My parents bought one for my brother around 1998-1999 probably. I don't remember how old I was, but I remember my mom starting up Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for me, this is my first gaming memory. I think around that same time, I shoved pennies in the cartridge slot which caused it to break. In December 2012, me and my brother used some of are Christmas to buy one from a used game store.
Nintendo Gamecube (December 2001 - December 2008; January 2014 - mid 2018)
My family got one for Christmas 2001, just ten days before I was born. I remember playing Mario Party 5 with my older brother and sister. I'd also come home from kindergarten and see my brother playing Zelda: Collectors Edition through the window and I'd be excited to watch him play. It eventually broke but my brother would borrow his friend's Gamecube and played it up until we got a Wii. In January 2014, I convinced my mom to buy me one from a used game store, I used this one to play a ton of Mario Kart: Double Dash and Super Smash Bros Melee.
Gameboy Advance SP (January 2008 - late 2014)
I got black one for my 6th birthday with a copy of Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots. Gamestop still sold GBA stuff up until mid 2011, so that gave me plenty of time to get games like Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Finding Nemo, etc. My older brother and sister still had some of their Gameboy (Color) games like Pokemon Yellow, Super Mario Bros Deluxe, Dogz, and Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. I decided to throw away my GBA SP when a few of the buttons stopped working and then starting using my brother's silver. I kept this one up until I lost it on the bus during 7th grade, I brought it with me because my 3DS was broken.
PlayStation 2 Slim (April 2008 - mid 2019)
My dad brought one home a couple days after my brother's 13th birthday with a copy of Kingdom Hearts 2. My favorite games for this console are Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and Bully.
Nintendo Wii (December 2008 - June 2011; December 2011 - early 2013; mid 2018 - late 2019)
I got one for Christmas in 2008 with Wii Sports and Wii Play, I remember screaming my lungs out over getting one. On NYE 2008, I got Super Smash Bros Brawl, and on my birthday (1/4/2009) I got Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. This is the console I played the most and had the most games for, I have so much fun memories with this console. This is the reason I used to go by "WiiFan" a while ago. The Gamecube backwards compatibility was also a huge perk. In June 2011, my Wii broke, but we got another one in the Christmas after. I only got to play the Super Smash Bros Brawl online once when I was at my friends house in December 2013. Last year, I bought another one from I used game store and hacked it.
Nintendo DSi (December 2009 - April 2011)
My and my older sister got one on Christmas 2009, mine was black and hers was pink. I also got Mario Kart DS, Mario Party DS, and Sega Superstars Tennis. In 2010, I discovered Flipnote Studio/Hantena and also would play Mario Kart DS online whenever I'd go to the library. One thing I hated is that I couldn't watch YouTube videos on the DSi web browser.
PlayStation Portable (PSP) (April 2010 - 2016)
This belonged to my brother, but I did get to play some games on it like Ratchet & Clank, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Dissidia Final Fantasy, etc.
Atari 2600 (mid 2012 - 2015)
I found one at a garage sale with Pac-Man, Mouse Trap, and Q-bert. It stopped turning on in 2015 so I threw it out.
Nintendo 3DS (January 2013 - July 2014; November 2016 - early 2018):
I got one for my 11th birthday with New Super Mario Bros 2, which I beat in one sitting. Not only did I play games on this, I also used the Camera app to record YouTube videos and used it for Facebook and watching YouTube as well. In July 2014, my first 3DS broke and I remember being sad because it was my only Internet device at the time. In November 2016, my brother gave me his 3DS XL when he upgraded to the "new" 3DS XL.
Nintendo Wii U (December 2014 - present)
I got one for Christmas 2014 with Super Smash Bros for Wii U. I eventually got some of great games like Super Mario Maker, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, Pokken Tournament, etc. It's ability to play original Wii games and use original Wii devices was a major perk.
Xbox 360 (February 2016 - mid 2018)
I bought an old model from Gamestop which was a shitty deal. I got about 15 games for it before I traded it in later.
Nintendo Switch (December 2017 - present)
My brother bought a used one with Mario & Rabbids. I've gotten to play Super Mario Odyssey, Pokken Tournament Deluxe, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, etc.
PlayStation 3 Super Slim (late 2018 - present)
My brother bought one from a used game store.
Xbox One S (December 2018 - present)
I got one last Christmas with Soul Calibur 6, Battlefield V, and GTA V. I also download a few games like Mortal Kombat X, Witcher 3, and others.
