I am the youngest (mid 1997) with an older brother (late 1988), which is great, as I would not have to worry about having a younger sibling who is still not settled with its life. However, as I have an 8-year gap, while it does help me getting all the attention from my parents, my brother moved out when I was 9, so I was pretty lonely outside of school as I never really bothered inviting friends over or going over to a friend's house, and I had to depend on my parents for hanging out. This was until I graduated high school, so a long 9 years. However, when I was 2-9, I felt like the baby of the house, and until I was 12, I did wish I could have a younger sibling to play with, though when I was in seventh grade, that began to change as I needed my parents to help me with school as I started middle school at that age. Of course, I do not want to be the youngest of all my cousins, none of whom live in my country, as where they live, they believe older cousins get to boss their younger cousins even if they are just a year younger. My youngest older cousin is only 2 years older than me, even though she was born in late 94, me mid 97. No rule actually exists like that. My dad (late 1957) grew up with five siblings, and he was the second oldest. His oldest sibling (1954) is 17 years older than his youngest sibling (1972), and his second youngest sibling is 7 years older (1964). My mom (born late 1960) is the oldest sibling with just one younger brother 12 years younger (born mid 1973). This is normal. Because of my age gap, three of my four older cousins (1993, 1994, and 1994) are younger than my brother, leaving me with just four younger cousins (2000, 2002, 2002, 2007). My brother has only one older cousin and she was born in 1982. Being the youngest sibling is great as I do not want to be that older sibling that puts down my younger sibling by claiming it is too young. Also, the age gap did prevent sibling rivalry once I started fourth grade. So being the younger sibling is better in my opinion.

Being the youngest.I've dreamt in the past about having an older sister and my Mum had a miscarriage just a year before I was born. I have always felt as though I should have an older sister. I have two pairs of cousins who are brothers and sisters, so me having a sister feels like the missing puzzle piece really. My Dad said to me once that he even had a dream around the time of the miscarriage that he was going to have a daughter. It all just seems to make sense, it can't be coincidental. I hate the fact that I have no siblings.

I have two pairs of cousins who are brothers and sisters, so me having a sister feels like the missing puzzle piece really. My Dad said to me once that he even had a dream around the time of the miscarriage that he was going to have a daughter. It all just seems to make sense, it can't be coincidental. I hate the fact that I have no siblings. Yeah, the three older cousins I have younger than my brother have no siblings, so all my paternal cousins are actually like their siblings.

People really don't realise how lucky they are to have a brother or a sister.

I'm the oldest. I have two younger brothers (born a year and two after me, 1994 and 1995 respectively) and then my twin sisters born much later in 2005, twelve and a half years younger than me.
Growing up, my brothers sucked at Mario Party and had bad tastes in video games in general, so I wanted another sibling who wouldn't be so awful. I wanted a sister since I didn't have any, and got two. Unfortunately, all the video games I wanted to play (and local multiplayer gaming as a concept in general) were irrelevant by the time they were old enough to play them.

Still with two older sisters, but also with a brother a year and a half younger than me that'd I be closest with. One of my cousins was born August 1999, and we were close when we were both preschool age.

Not going to lie, as someone who does does not even live in the same continent as any of his cousins, I am actually fine not having cousins, cause I cant really relate to a single one of my cousins, since they all lived in India their whole lives, except my oldest (born 1982) who moved to Bahrain a few years back after having her first and only son (born 2012), but her husband likes it better in India than Bahrain, so I can tell they would want to stay in India. However, my paternal cousins and maternal cousins dont really get together, but all my paternal cousins get along with each other while both of my maternal cousins get along with each other. I cant relate to either of them cause they dont understand the western lifestyle. My dad is the only one in my family who relates to them since he was the only one born outside the US, while my mom was born to Indian immigrants, who moved back to India before I was born.

While, I said I prefer being they younger sibling, I would not like it if I had two or more older siblings that are all far older than me and they are close to each other's ages. This is better for me.
