For me, it depends. I normally like present day settings, cause that is the time period we live, and the one time period movies can actually portray accurately. However, we see many movies set in other time periods, but mostly the past cause the future is one we dont know of. I prefer futuristic just to for the surprisecause the movies portray the past in a way that it seems pretty modern while it does look accurate a bit up until the setting for the 90s, which feels very present day, though the 80s settings feel very 60s.

It's hard to say. Film premises set hundreds of years into the past or future generally don't appeal to me. I've just never really cared much for fantasy/sci-fi and those type of films more often than not revolve around those two themes. Otherwise, I have no real preference for films set either within the past few decades or the present time. I'm not going to stop watching a movie just because it happens to be set in the 1970s or the 2010s, lol. However, if I had to pick an option, I would probably say that I skew more towards films set in the not too-distant future, simply because I kind of enjoy speculating about what the future may have in stall for us as a society. That's why I found Blade Runner 2049 so interesting.

I prefer present, but I prefer a past setting over a future setting. Mad Men really made the '60s come to life! I like historical dramas set in 1800s and before too.

I love past but present is pretty unavoidable. Whether I enjoy future depends on context, like if it's too dystopian then it's just depressing.
