I'm going to the cinemas with three of my friends to see this movie tomorrow. Star Wars has never particularly interested me and I have never actually watched a Star Wars movie before, so by the sound of things, maybe this isn't the best movie to introduce someone to Star Wars.

Esp since the movie recaps and ends 8 movies worth of storylines, please if you can watch the other movies before watching this. You will have 0% of any idea of what any of the implications of Episode 9 are.

My personal opinion is that the Disney trilogy was a colossal waste of opportunity. I'd even call it tragic. While Disney does have the opportunity to make a new Star Wars trilogy and get it right, this was the one and only chance to have the original cast back. We will never get to see Luke Skywalker as a powerful Jedi Master or Leia as a fully trained Jedi. Why Disney/Lucasfilm didn't have a general story outline for where they wanted the trilogy to go before starting Episode 7. It should have never been what was essentially a rehash of the original trilogy, only with less interesting characters, an enemy that you don't fear, and less interesting planets/locations. The Last Jedi felt like a big middle finger to the entire Star Wars mythos and it's fans. I don't care if it was about "subverting expectations."
Episode 9 did a lot to right the wrongs of The Last Jedi in my opinion but not enough to fix the trilogy. This trilogy is "apocrypha" as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah JJ did what he could with 9 but it was not enough, 3 alternate endings of this movie exist which is crazy
