I am seriously done with today's music. All I see on the charts, is Trap music, or Dark Alt/Indie pop. We literally have had the same old beat since late 2013, it was fun at first, but now it is getting SUPER annoying. Mumble rappers like Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, and Roddy Ricch, and other rappers are just making Trap further amplified, now it is gonna be the sound of the 2020s! This is why I haven't been listening to modern music, theres lack of diversity and creativity, and now lyrics are just about drugs or flexing. This just makes me depressed and annoyed.
You might say, "Just listen to older music if you're not a fan of it then," well, I do that, it's just that it can get overplayed too, and when I want something new to listen to, I cant! Seriously, we need a new beat, a lot of people and I have been sick and tired of this, its brainwashing high school kids. Nowadays, when you say you dont listen to Trap music, you'll get laughed at/clowned.
Trap is the main reason why we are lacking creativity and diversity in music nowadays. You had Imagine dragons-inspired rock, killed by Trap music. You had Electropop, killed by Trap. Bubblegum pop, killed by Trap. EDM, killed by Trap. Lots of good music genres are dying thanks to Trap, this is just like a massacre.

I'd be fine with a Trap demolition night, it will make no effect though, but you guys can try. But still, we need something new other than just Trap

Trap music isn't going to be the sound of the 2020s. I expect it to still be popular next year and possibly into 2021, but it will definitely fall out of favour sometime in the next few years. It has already declined in popularity from what it was even last year.

Dude, the trap in 2017-2018 is much worse than what it is right now. It was the time of Lil Pump, Lil Baby, and 6ix9ine. Trap has been around since the mid 2000s. I seriously doubt trap will be the sound of the 2020s. Plus, Roddy Ricch is not a mumble rapper.

Bar a few individual releases, pop-rock has been dead as a mainstream genre since at least 2011, long before Trap made inroads into the mainstream. Also, bubblegum pop was already on the decline before Trap emerged into the Top-40 towards the end of 2016.

I would certainly say so, even though I really like trap music. But hopefully, a sonically new and popular sound will be coming into rap in the upcoming decade!
I'm amazed as how hip-hop changed over the years. From G-funk/gangsta/boom bap (core 1990s) to crunk/snap (core 2000s) to now trap (core 2010s). I wonder what will take its place....

But still, we need something new other than just Trap That just sounds barbaric, just like the original Disco Demo Night. I may not like trap either, but the vitriol towards it is just as annoying. It's just a genre of music you guys, calm the fuck down. If you don't like popular music, listen to the endlessly large catalogue of alternative and underground music, there's so much rich creativity to explore below the Top 200.

Maybe if you experiment and move out of your comfort zone you'd discover various artists that this supposed trap poison has no effect on.

I understand why you say Trap is getting over-saturated but no one is forcing you to listen to Trap. Plus, rap has been talking about drugs and flexing since the beginning of hip-hop so it's not surprising.

Not to mention that plenty of Disco Demolition Night was fueled by racism and homophobia. Really one of the last actions to take example after.

Why can't you not listen to it? I get sometimes you just can't get away from an annoying song, but I rarely hear trap on movies/tv shows/advertisements/in public places.

I lost interest in current music in 1989. It's just the same boring crap. No song issued since 1989 will be regarded as a much loved classic as stuff like 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'Imagine', 'Yesterday', 'Great Balls Of Fire', 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and similar. And the majority of the acts themselves are no better, being arrogant up themselves twonks who consider themselves above everyone else and also being bad role models.
