I’m interested in learning more about this. Some people are saying it’s because Chinese people are eating bats and stuff. I’ve seen videos of it and it’s honestly nasty.

And this is why I don’t believe all cultures are created equal. Sure, we do eat meat despite how unhealthy it can be, but at least it’s high in some protein so we do get a nutritional benefit from it. There is no nutritional benefit in eating bats.

Does anyone remember the amount of panic there was for swine flu back in 2009? Don't get me wrong, I feel for the 82 people who have lost their lives to this epidemic and it is worrying that the coronavirus has spread to multiple countries, however I don't think it's the "armageddon" scenario people are making it out to be. The media can blow things out of proportion at times...

There used to be a pretty popular Facebook fan/like page called “remember in 2009 when someone yelled “swine” every time somebody coughed” or something like that.
Yeah in the late 2000’s it felt like there was always a disease du jour. SARS, bird flu, pig flu, etc.
