New Zealand currently has only one remaining active case of COVID 19 in the country. Hopefully that person recovers soon!

The United States is still affected by this the most. It is the only country with more than a million active cases. A lot of states reopened, but California somehow is still in lockdown.

Looks like we're all starting to lose interest in the pandemic already. The United States has reached another grim milestone:

Now, the United States is back to focusing on the pandemic rather than the George Floyd protests. It is a shame that most states opened, and California is still in lockdown, not to mention most countries are no longer in a lockdown.

Now, it looks like the US is more or less going to have to lockdown until 2022 and that will be followed by 10-15 years of economic depression. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is starting to move on. We can thank the fundamentalist Christian Trump supporters for this.

Yeah, looks like the countries that are topping the cases and deaths in the world are now the "shithole countries."

China is doing surprisingly well while Brazil suddenly is doing so bad. The United States either way is still in the lead in terms of the cases and deaths.

China is very obviously lying about their numbers. The only difference between the U.S.’s COVID-19 information suppression campaign and China’s is the latter’s is successful. Case in point: foreignpolicy.com/2020/05/12/leaked-chinese-coronavirus-database-number-cases/

If China was lying, why would they be adding new cases and new deaths? They put southern Beijing into lockdown yesterday after they found 30 cases related to a food wholesaler there. I think you can fudge the numbers a little bit, but you can't say you have 0 deaths a day when several grieving families know for a fact it's much more than that. That kind of information gets out fast. It's hard to lie about dead people. Russia tried to cover up its numbers but the mayor of Moscow blurted out that deaths are double their historical average. It's not the type of information you can keep under wraps for very long.

I mean more than 40 million people in the United States lost jobs since March 15. The worst part of this lockdown is the issue with the job market.

And now it looks like it's going to last until a vaccine. Then 10-15 years of economic ruin after that. Three months in complete isolation has been torture. There's probably 12-16 months left.

I wouldn't say they "lost" their job if the job is simply on hold. My brother "lost" his job working at a mental health hospital, but obviously the job will come back when the lockdown is over. Until then he bought a computer with his employment insurance money and is playing video games. I'm honestly not concerned anymore for the economy. During the Great Recession unemployment continued to rise for 18 months, starting from September 2008 and peaking in February 2010. This recession didn't even last 6 weeks before unemployment started to fall back down. Some industries here and there might be impacted but I expect things to return back to normal very quickly once the disease is contained.
