The worst part of this whole toilet paper/hand sanitiser/other products panic buying frenzy is that the most vulnerable people (the elderly, sick, disabled, etc.) in our society are being cut off from such essential goods. Exactly, my older brother has Crohn's Disease which flare's up every now and then...toilet paper is his number 1 essential!

I'll be honest, the threat of coronavirus is definitely starting to worry me. I don't exactly feel content living here in the Illawarra. If the human-to-human transmission spreads to outside of Sydney, we will be the first ones to get it. Plus, Wollongong isn't exactly small; 300,000+ people live here. It's only a matter of time before people are diagnosed with it and if it gets particularly bad, I may even consider escaping the area and staying a few nights somewhere far enough away from the outbreak.

...I may even consider escaping the area and staying a few nights somewhere far enough away from the outbreak. What would you do if your city is put in lockdown and you can't get out? Or even worse, you leave your city and you can't get back in. Wuhan has been in lockdown since late January. Nobody out. Nobody in. That's something to think about... Safest place is in your own home.

Yeah I agree. Im quite concerned aswell because I have to take crowded train services at peak times (lots of people coughing etc) which is quite possibly the worst place to be during a pandemic. I just try not to touch any of the handrails and then I sanitise my hands immediately after exiting the train .

What is the deal with the toilet paper this isn't cholera... Hey, we started the toilet paper obsession. You all need to stop copying us. Yeah I agree. Im quite concerned aswell because I have to take crowded train services at peak times (lots of people coughing etc) which is quite possibly the worst place to be during a pandemic. I just try not to touch any of the handrails and then I sanitise my hands immediately after exiting the train . Yeah, that's a good idea. I think the hardest thing though is to try and get yourself into the habit of not touching your eyes, nose and mouth. It can be so easy to do it without thinking and doing so apparently makes you even more susceptible to getting the coronavirus.

Not sure if some of you have seen this, but this was on the news at least here in Australia just yesterday. There's some real scumbags in the world...

Honestly, I don't know how the guy remained so calm in this situation - I would've completely lost my shit at that lady. Regardless of whether she has coronavirus or not, that behaviour is completely rude and immature.

So two big scares for me today, one general and one personal. First the general. It looks like we got our first case of community transmission in Ontario. The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada held a conference in Toronto and proudly boasted of its 20,000+ people attendance from 132 countries in the year of our lord 2020. A man from Sudbury in Northern Ontario, about 425 kilometres (265 miles) north of Toronto, who attended the conference was diagnosed with COVID-19 today and has no recent history of leaving the country. It's next to impossible to impossible that he was the only one who caught it there. I'm expecting things to blow up over the next couple of weeks. And now the personal. My hometown of Hamilton, Ontario got its first case today. It was a cancer doctor who had just arrived from the US. She talked to and handled patients all day yesterday. My aunt went to that same cancer hospital yesterday. Thankfully she had a different doctor and was in a different wing of the hospital. She's one of the people I'm scared for most, since she is 65 and is a multiple times cancer survivor, so she's not in the best of health. This s**t is getting scary.

* The current NBA season has been suspended. * Donald Trump has banned travel to and from European countries. * 200 people have died in Italy over the past 24 hours. * Denmark has now enforced self-quarantine for all it's citizens.
