This is a thread to share new songs you come across that don’t sound 2010’s and sounds quite futuristic.

I think SharksFan99 was the one who came across this song once, but I would definitely have to agree that it doesn’t sound like the typical 2010’s EDM song. It sounds pretty edgy to me.

I think this song could only come out at this time.
This song also sounds very different compared to what is released throughout the late 2010s.

Good As Hell by Lizzo, as well as Juice, it sounds like something that came out in 1987.

I don’t see how anything sounds like 2020 yet when the decade really just started and hasn’t formed an identity yet.
How are you guys already feeling a total difference in the decades already? 😂

How are you guys already feeling a total difference in the decades already? 😂 When Tik Tok and Bad Romance were hits in late 2009/early 2010, it felt something new that couldn't be released anywhere else in the 2000s. Those songs ushered the music industry into the EDM domination throughout the majority of the 2010s.

You’re supposed to find songs that sound like they could be 2020’s songs, not songs from the early 2010’s that sounded 2000’s.

I don't think we will get a true indication of what the sound of the 2020s will be until at least sometime next year, and even then, I've got a hunch that it will be in the form of a new sound becoming a smash hit towards the end of 2021. When it comes to music, I tend to think we are in a similar place to what music was like back in 1990. The majority of the songs on the charts could easily have been released just a few years ago.

Speaking of that, I don't know if I asked you this before (I know I asked this from other users the Discord chat), but do you consider this song below (which is from 1990) to sound more '80s or '90s? aja675 stated he thinks the beat sounds more '80s, but the vocals sound more '90s.

I wanted this thread to be more like sharing new songs that don't sound like typical 2010's songs. Like songs that sound very unique. I couldn't find a better way to phrase it.

This song from FKA Twigs (she was actually the stripper from Usher's Prince tribute) sounds nothing like the mainstream charts, and it honestly sounds gorgeous and ethereal at the same time. I feel like this song transcends time.
