There are decades where the earlier years were extensions of the previous decade. 1960s is the biggest example of this because 1960-1962 were almost identical to the late 50s. The only things that seperate the early 60s from the 50s is the Flinestones, The Twilight Zone, and the Twist craze. I have a feeling that the 2020s will begin late.

Same. Much of the culture is the same as it was even two years ago, especially meme culture which feels like it won't change

The 1960s and 1990s are two prominent examples in recent history. I feel like 1990-92 were extensions of the late 1980s. The '90s weren't in full swing until 1993.

Same. Much of the culture is the same as it was even two years ago, especially meme culture which feels like it won't change The meme evolution in the 2010s was incredible to gradually watch. You had trollfaces and top text/bottom text memes in the early 2010s, followed by Vine and MLG/Dank memes in the mid-2010s, and surreal, distorted, loud, no one:-esque, deep-fried memes in the late 2010s. I have a feeling that the current meme culture may die out later this year (or next year) with another wave of memes. We just need ONE different and popular meme that will change the course of Internet culture (similar to the impacts of Nyan Cat or Gangnam Style).

The 1960s never really kicked off until about 1963. When bob haircuts became popular for guys (the one the Beatles had), untucking shirts became rebellious, shorter skirts for woman, the JFK assassination, the Civil Rights movement in full swing, motown music along with classic rock becoming very popular.

I hope the sub's not gonna be the future because it seems very niche with its audience. And there were already variations of "bone hurting juice" memes on the regular meme sub. So I honestly have no idea what's gonna be the next meme culture.
