As you know, both years are 30 years apart from 1990. Which year does 1990 have more in common? I would say 2020.

2020 if I had to choose but, recently I have been starting to see how dated 1990 really is and, I'm starting to think it is more of a tie.
(I recently just edited this post).

2020, for obvious reasons:
*More racial equality
*Color television
*Video games are mass-produced popular items
*Synthpop's still a thing in mainstream music (the instrumental qualities are different, but the years had synths in songs nonetheless)

1960. The internet is the most revolutionary invention since literally electricity.

The real question would be
1960: more like 1930 or 1990?
But sadly this forum only cares about 90s+ decades 🌚

Well 1990 was the year homosexuality was just no longer considered a mental disease by the WHO. There was a still a long way to go from there. I'd say 1990 is evenly split between the two.

2020 is more like 1960 than 1990 is like either. That's way too hyperbolic

More like 2020. The 90s in general are more like the early 21st century than the mid 20th century

For some countries like China, India, Russia, much of Latin America and Africa (even many European countries), 1990 is much closer to 1960 than it is to 2020. It totally depends where you are in. For Japan, the US, and Western Europe, it's closer to today.
