     Hi Popedians, hope you're all well! We now have a new default homepage layout. The current design had been in use for almost 18 months, since the 14th October 2018, so it was about time for a fresh coat of paint and an update. There are a number of significant changes so I will go through each of them:  What's New?
* Avatars are now circular. * When you access a board, a floating "+" button will appear on the bottom right-hand corner of the page; that button is used to create new threads. The button will also appear when you go onto someone's profile, which is used to send a message to someone. * Notifications are represented by the little bell icon in the top-left corner. If you receive a message, you will receive a notification next to the small envelope icon. * The Navigation Menu is now accessed by clicking the three-lines to the top-left hand side of the page (^ Image 2 shows what it looks like) Some minor tweaks will be made over the next day or two. For instance, the banners need fixing and the colour of the task bar will likely change to a lighter shade of blue. I may also look to change some of the links in the Navigation Menu. Everyone on the current 'Default' theme will switch over to this theme on Sunday. I haven't done it now as I realise that it's a pretty big change from the current layout and I don't want to suddenly spring it on people. If you would like to keep the existing layout as your theme, please let me know below. That's so I know not to switch you over to this new theme layout on Sunday. Of course, you can change your theme at any time, so if you have second thoughts and do decide that you want to switch after Sunday, you can always do so. Feedback on the new theme would be appreciated, Thanks!

Looks really nice. With basically every site using the circular design these days it’s only appropriate Popedia to adopt it also. Does this mean that we will not be given a choice of what theme to have? I’m guessing the other themes will remain if I understand SharksFan’s post. The change will mainly affect the users who are using the default theme...

Like EyewitnessTV explained, all of the existing themes on the forum will remain the same and everyone will still be able to switch themes whenever they wish to. The only thing that will change is that people on the existing "Default" theme (which is the name of a theme) will switch over to this new design. The existing default homepage design will still be available to use on the forum, however, it will no longer be the default layout for the forum itself. Hope that clears things up.

Serious question now. Does it matter that a lot of this pop culture goes over my head? Am I out of my depth here? I'd like to stay, this is a great site.

We have a lot of members here who choose not to participate in the pop culture discussions, so please don't feel as though you're the only one who isn't interested or can't relate to those conversations. I hope you choose to stay.

The default theme has now changed. If you wish to use the previous design, it is still available to use under the "Metro Blue" theme name.

Nah. I prefer the previous layout. The current layout is too hospital-y and non forum like for me. The old layout is very decade focus and classic.
