When did people start getting nostalgic for older system in your opinion. Feel free to mention any older system you want.
This is my take for the nes and atari:

Growing interest: 1995-1997 Popular: 1998 Peak of Popularity: 1999-2005
Nes:

The atari ones got big in the late 90s and early 2000s. Also this was when people also starting collecting and it was becoming a thing to use older vintage arcade graphics in pop media etc. I adjusted a bit, but its still the same though. PS1, dreamcast, gamecube, Snes, gameboy etc all have their own eras, some are still in the midst of popularity. Genesis and Turbografx being quite recent.

Vh1 when they did their whole 80s graphics rebrand were doing that 8 bit intros and etc

I think the 6th generation started to get nostalgia for it around 2012, peaked around 2017 and is still probably the generation people have the most nostalgia for, maybe a close second.
As for the seventh generation I think there is actually some nostalgia to be found. Around 2018 or so, the kids who played MW2 started reminiscing about the good ol' days of the lobbies in the game and how toxic they were. Many have also pointed out how the 7th generation was just so much better than the 8th generation. You can find many videos about how this generation has just been really bad.
