For those who missed, here are the designs: I didn't even notice that there was a fully digital edition. That's actually clever to offer a less expensive alternative, but I'm too old school to wave goodbye to old disk readers Social media is already joking on the console design looking like a Wi-Fi router. Hilarious. Other than that, I'm really excited about the PS5. Ghostwire, Deathloop, Demon's Souls, Solar Ash, Resident Evil: Village, and Horizon: Forbidden West all look like great games. Despite the router comparison, the system looks sleek, curvy, and futuristic. But that Digital Edition version could potentially be the death knell of game retail stores (ahem, GameStop) and their CD game box shelves.

The console is beautiful. Definitely a piece of furniture you want to show off, unlike the Xbox which belongs behind the TV lol.

Sony always had the best aesthetics for video games consoles , it's funny the ps5 looks like something in the early to mid 2000s that we think in our mind looks futuristic similar to Xbox 360's white finish. Ps2 kind of had the same vibe of it standing up.

I like the look of the controllers, but i'm not really sold on the design of the console itself. It doesn't look as though the PS5 has been designed to sit horizontally, which is going to be problematic for me if I were to buy one, as I don't have the room on my bedroom chest of drawers or the home entertainment system in the lounge-room to have a vertical-facing console beside the TV. Other than that, I do like the fact that Sony have gone for a more sleek, futuristic look for the new console. The aesthetic is a huge improvement over the PS4 and especially the Xbox Series X. It's just the curvy design, as well as its physical hardware limitations, that I think are the biggest letdowns. I'm not sure if i'm going to buy one.
