FUCK NO, people are getting more and more sensitive to the point where we lost 80% of our fun events, including school. The coronavirus cancelations are understandable, but instead of canceling it, its better just to do something about it.

Something I was thinking about I wanted to add: In the case of like a Harvey Weinstein type, his removal has been with the intent of dismantling an abusive system. Taking down people in power, who are bullies at best to potentially malignant criminals, already reduces the pool of people who are even able to be attacked in such a fashion. I think Cancel Culture goes really wrong when we start going after every random person. We’re getting to a place where kids are losing all their friends, regular people are losing/not getting low to mid tier jobs, etc., often due to their internet history. There’s a line between using collaborative power to protect ourselves and practically turning against ourselves via abuse of that power.

I think cancel culture is just a form of self protest from people online to a celebrity or content creator for said problematic or really bigoted comments towards said group. Said group will be the majority of the people who decide not to consume content from said person along with supporters or friends of said group. So said celebrity or content creator loses a significant portion of his fan base on they’re own accountability and whines that they lost opportunities because of said cancel culture and hopefully learns a lesson that maybe what they said was bigoted and wrong and begins to have a genuine understanding of why that is and an authentic apology. Usually that’s not what happens at least in the context of modern day “cancel culture” where said celebrity says something offensive from present or past remarks and loses opportunities from mainstream brands that try to pander to said usually marginalized groups. Said celebrity begins to gain a usual bigoted following who agrees with said remarks that are not in the mainstream because it does not appeal to wider audiences. Said celebrity fades from relevance in the public eye for obvious reason because now they’re just that person with bigoted beliefs except to they’re new found audience

How do y'all feel about JK Rowling getting cancelled? Should have happened back in 1997, then we would have been sparred from Harry Potter.  In all seriousness though, I think it's interesting that the cast members of the films have also come out and distanced themselves from her views, it's not very often you see something like that. It can't be said that she doesn't deserve it though. In the case of JK Rowling nowadays she’s on the internet spreading misinformation about trans people from dubious articles. She’s gained quite a following from trans exclusionists kinda like Dave Chappell as of recently.

i’m not working on shit also most transwomen who identify as lesbian are agp they just don’t admit it. any look through the trans subs will tell you but you don’t know the signs so you won’t notice them. you know what i don’t even have a problem with agp’s if they keep it to themselves but that’s not the case for most of them so yea i have an issue with it. have a good night
