I kinda wish that collage included more photos from before September 11, if only to remember what life was like before the world decided to collectively lose its shit.

I don’t know if anybody has seen this site, but here’s what TV looked like on 9/11 and the week after...I didn’t even have cable at my parents houses when it happened but I remember the wall to wall news coverage on just the local 6 channels. archive.org/details/911/day/20010911

Still 50x better than 2020 unless you had a family member die or you were in the building.
I hate to imagine being in the building when it collapsed, or in the vicinity.

I heard people on reddit say 9/11 was worse than COVID19, but no way. 9/11 didnt cause a lockdown to last for months, and schools, only in the United States, were only closed for one day, and people really only died in the North East Coast of the United States and in the Middle East, not the entire world. Only thing is it did cause a recession, but the recession COVID19 caused was the worst one yet since the Great Depression, and 9/11 didnt involve a deadly, contagious virus killing several hundreds of thousands of people, and infecting millions of people. Businesses, theaters, gyms, theme parks, attractions, restaurants, sporting events, and other major events have been cancelled due to this. Over 40 million Americans lost jobs within the past three months, and only like 10-15 percent of those people became employed again. The only people who would have died from the effects of 9/11 were people in a certain part of Manhattan, anyone near the Pentagon, the people on those four crashed jets, and those who died during the War of Afghanistan and War of Iraq, and other than for stricter airport security and white supremacy against Muslim people, no other impacts occured from 9/11. Coronavirus is a nightmare for me. Like 85% of this year so far was a living hell.

I am also going to be honest with you that recession in the early 2000s was hardly felt. I actually forgot we had one then until 2018 when I was reminded of it. The Saturday at the Mall following 9/11 was packed. No one really stayed at home.

I kinda wish that collage included more photos from before September 11, if only to remember what life was like before the world decided to collectively lose its shit. I was at an airport in New York either in August or September 2001. I met these kids at the arcade. We decided to play hide and seek at the airport. Eventually my mom decided to go look for us and couldn't find us (although she found me), and then this geriatric lady was telling her stories about how she lost her children at this airport and never saw them again even after 20 years, and my mom broke down crying and panicking. That was some real epic hide and seek. Oh the game I was obsessed with most at the arcade was Rampage, god damn that game is addictive. As for 9/11, I don't really remember anything from that day in particular. But I do remember the following days. A Hindu temple in my city got arsoned and I do think the mosque had its windows shattered. My aunt told me it was because of the attacks on the WTC, so I thought the Americans were bombing Canada LOL Everyone was so on edge. I remember I was at my cousin's cousin's house and I really wanted to play the Lion King game on his Genesis but our parents were watching the "mysterious" Pentagon crash on loop, and I was wondering if they ever get bored of watching the same news all day. After repeated begging from us they snapped and screamed at us, it was really scary. Oh yeah, there was a huge fight in my neighbourhood too after someone put a "God Bless America" sign on their window. There was a huge commotion and half the adults in my neighbourhood thought 9/11 was an inside job and that offended the other half of the neighbourhood. A lot of kids were crying because they thought they couldn't be friends anymore if their parents were fighting LOL. I had the homeroom teacher from hell, so I'm not particularly fond of this month. What I liked though is that Grade 4 (me) and Grade 5 were in the same classroom, so I got to make a lot of new friends.

There was def phobia from anyone that was from the middle east, If you were of middle eastern decent and in the 2001-2002 year forget it you were living in hell. You would see it all the time @ lunch.

Which is one of the things that drives me crazy about some of the stuff that I've read on this forum about X year being worse than 2020. Like I'm sorry you thought 2019 was boring because of all the "trap crap" on the radio; is 400k+ dead from a global pandemic interesting enough for you!? I mean really, there are folks here who are complaining about there being nothing this year to listen to or movies to watch and that's apparently the greatest tragedy about this year. Meanwhile we're projecting potentially millions dead by the time this disease is under control and years of economic depression. It's literally insane to me what some people's priorities are.

Yes, I mean this year, society really fell apart. I mean it is like we are living in an apocalypse, and I see so many idiots outside playing around without wearing masks and not social distancing whatsoever as if there is no deadly virus out there still trying to infect and kill people. Like the park I live nearby, everyday, I see groups of idiots sitting on the grass together with their friends, and even the basketball courts are still having basketball games. I feel like that is what is resulting in the increase of new cases.

We're reopening too, but our state has seen a dramatic decline in cases, I'm happy to say, because people were complying.

Don’t forget all the people who post about it on Facebook being a hoax made up by the liberal media or George Soros or something like that. 🙄 The type of person this starter pack is about.
