I thought it might be fun to try this little forum game for movies, especially considering what it can reveal about the history of cinema. For instance, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark...
...Is now as old in 2020 as another acclaimed film about intrigue and romance in World War II was in 1981:

"Shrek" (2001) is as old today as...
...the Disney film "Tron" (1982) was back then, the first film to extensively use computer-generated imagery.

I can't believe the early 1940s Disney films such as Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Bambi are almost as old today as the American Civil War back then.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 is as old today...
As Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was then. Jeez, the time flies.
Also, the infamous American bicentennial film, Network, is now as old as...
The original critique of the withering of American institutions: I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang.

The iconic "Rebel Without a Cause" starring the legendary James Dean, is now as old today as the oldest motion pictures were then. I can't believe the early 1940s Disney films such as Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Bambi are almost as old today as the American Civil War back then. They're not almost as old, they are as old. In fact Pinocchio is even older now than the pre-Civil War period was then (81 years).

It won't be long before the New Hollywood era gets to be as antiquated for us as the Golden Age of Hollywood was for them. Edit: Actually, my math is off - it already is that old. Bonnie & Clyde and In the Heat of the Night got us kicked off with New Hollywood fully 54 years ago.
