Cd's started declining way before the 2010s, LimeWire is one of the biggest factors, from 2002 to 2008 CD's were pretty much backseat. So much that singles became the new thing instead with itunes giving it the biggest push. I’m talking about movies, go to rentals at planet Hollywood, DVDs replaced VHS even at Best Buy during the 2000s when internet access wasn’t as fast yet until the 2010s, even bootleg DVDs of recent movies were popular CDs and DVDs aren't the same thing. DVDs started to take over VHS around 2002 and peaked in the mid-2000s, while CD sales peaked in the Y2K era and were completely replaced by MP3s by 2009.

Disk related media I guess, I meant people don’t really use disks whether it’s DVDs(movies) or cds(Music). Your right mp3 did replace it. Streaming in general replaced disk related anything from the 2000s

The 70s were not consistent at all actually. We went from this depressing "post-60s" vibe in the first half of the 70s where everything is very gloomy and dark and America's best days seem to be behind it, to the disco party of the late 70s which saw a lot of technological innovation and escapism intruding into pop culture like never before. 1972 and 1977 both feel very different to me.

I’m kinda disappointed with these poll results lol. Have people even paid attention to what 1980 looked like? That year looked more late 70s than 80s. 1989 had incoming early 90s elements. This decade was inconsistent as hell; the early 80s and late 80s were like two different worlds.

This is so true, but people say the 70s were consistent because they don't know much about the decade

The disco party of the late 70s But disco WAS a form of escapism. The late 70s were very dark times still with economic stagnation at its worst, post-Watergate political delusional, criminality numbers peaking and not to mention the sorry state many major cities were in. It's no coïncidence that this time was such a boom for movements like punk, skinheads and metal. The early 1970s seemed like Happy Days in comparison.
