This poll is not what is the best but rather what is the most exciting year of the 1990s?
A year that has you on the EDGE of your seat in a thrill ride...
There are no right or wrong answers

1991-1992. Completely flawless and exciting due to many breakthroughs and trends kicking off and the 90s solidifying. Not tainted with the cheesiness of 80s culture, dullness from the mid 90s nor the artificial vibes of the Y2K and late 90s that 1990 and 1992/3-98/1999 can suffer from in varying degrees.

Batman Returns Everything every day that year lol I liked 1992, not my fav but it was pretty solid Was The simpsons still on Thursday at that point, or did they already switch back to Sunday, I am trying to remember

Sadly, I don't remember the early 1990s so, I don't really have any personal experience of the era (I definitely do get an idea on what they were like though, doing a bit of research).

1996. 1996 has the Space Jam soundtrack. But 1997 and 1999 definitely deserve mention.

1999 because of what everybody on here has mentioned: the excitement for the new millennium. But also because of things like the return of Star Wars with The Phantom Menace, the fact it was one of the greatest movie years ever, and it also had tons of fantastic TV premieres. 1991 was also very exciting with the fall of the Soviet Union, rise of the 16-bit era, and the rise of alt rock and decline of hair metal. Most boring - 1990. Basically 1989 part 2 with very long-in-the-tooth late 80s hair metal culture.

1997 I still stand by what I said, and not just because my teachers that year were an upgrade or the teen pop or y2k incoming aesthetics, but the vibe just felt AMAZING !
1999 I think is super underrated, it was a good 90s year, Star Wars had a TON of hype when it dropped.

Great choice. What I loved about the Star Wars Episode 1 was all the hype 5 months prior to the movie. The excitement, the ads, previews in magazines, and on the internet, nothing can ever match the excitement leading up to movie. After the special editions, the concept of a new star wars movie was the most exciting thing ever. I remember my friends discussing how awesome it would be if they made a movie out of shadows of the empire back in 96-97ish, I remember they released some comics then, I still kinda wish they would make the movie some day. Remember these you would get at KFC when the movie was out? I think other places promoted them as well. They were pretty well designed and collectable. Did you get any I still have this one with my star wars stuff from the 90s lol:
