Since the 1920s, the color palettes has drastically changes by the decade. From the Technicolor 30s to the Psychedelic 60s to the Minimalist colors of today. It takes inspiration from American(along with the western world) pop culture, technology, fashion, and design. The colors that define the last 100 years. juiceboxinteractive.com/blog/color/

I remember a few of us discussing the ugly-hot shade of mustard yellow that got really popular in the 2010’s. And turquoise in the 2000’s. I feel like after neon peaked in the early 10’s, things got more muted for a while.
Admittedly I love the Harvest and Avocado looks of the 60’s and 70’s, meanwhile everyone who remembers them questions my taste lmao.

My favorite decade in terms of the color hues used in no particular order, is the 1970s, 1930s, 1980s, 2000s, and the 1950s.

As much as I don't find 1950s culture appealing at all, I can't deny how great its aesthetics are. I love how balanced that color palette is, not dusty like the 2010s or garish like the 1990s but also not as bright as the other decades.

The 1960s colors are usually associated with the 70s than the 60s. A lot those stereotypical “70s” appliances were probably already in many houses by 1969. The whole teal, yellow and magenta aesthetic ruled the late 80s to mid 90s.

I still wear it for some reason.

I've always associated the 60s and 70s with warm colors like red, orange, yellow, and brown, whilst associating the 80s with cool colors like blue and purple. FFS one of the biggest songs of the 80s is literally titled PURPLE Rain.
For example, here's what a typical 60s logo looks like

Pink was very popular in both the 2000s and 2010s, yet it was different across both decades. In the 2000s, it was this vibrant hot pink that was very popular at the time. The Motorola Razr is a prime example of this. But in the 2010s, it was millennial pink, also called rose gold, and is a light pastel shade of pink. Both were very prominent in both pop culture and consumer electronics from both decades.

yeah that was based on the punk rock colors from the 70s black and pink, emo just took them in 04 It just goes to show how influenced the 2000s aesthetics in general were from the 70s. Bling aesthetics were heavily 70s influenced. The Y2K aesthetic was influenced by Ultramodern aesthetics in the 70s. You had lots of 70s revival fonts, like the one used in Pimp My Ride was really popular in the 2000s.

There's also the black and hot pink emo color scheme that was prevalent from 2004-2007. def, here are some 70s fonts that inspired the y2k era
