Ah yes, the year I graduated from high school. Personally, it was ok for me. Nothing very eventful besides graduating and a cool field trip I had. This school year had a lot of changes culturally. A new president that shook the world. Musically, this was when a decent amount of trap songs starting to top the charts, although EDM was still big throughout the year. Stranger Things S1 was talked about a lot by many peers. You could tell that hipster was gradually dying being replaced by athleisure. Culture was heading towards the late 2010s despite mid 2010s lingering around. Honestly, I'm surprised that 2016-2017 school year is as close now as the 2012-2013 school year then.

I wouldn't say Hipster fashion was gradually dying, I still saw a fair amount of hipsters in Spring 2017, though it was obvious how it was on the Decline until Late Summer or even Fall 2017 when there were no more hipsters

Like I said, they were beginning to decline in 2016-2017.
