I’ve been thinking the same thing throughout 2020. I’ve mentioned this in other threads that 2020 is almost like 2008 all over again. 2008 & 2020 r rat years. My house went thru some changes in 2020 like in 2008. It’s also kinda like 2001, like John Titor said, cuz COVID-19 is like 9/11, but on a much larger scale, occurring daily. Winter 2019/2020 & before is part of the Pre-Coronavirus world just like most mid summer 2001 & before was a pre-9/11 world. 2020 will be taught in history books. 2008 was mostly a cultural late 2000s year with Bush still being president despite Obama getting electing, 2000s culture still going on despite losing relevance 2 growing 2010s culture. I won’t discredit the fact that the transition from late 2000s-early 2010s culture began in late 2008. 2008 planted the seeds 4 the 2010s. 2020 has planted the seeds for the 2020s. 2020 & 1992 both have the same calendar. In 1992, democrat Bill Clinton won presidency, defeating 1 term Republican incumbent Bush. 2017-2020 share a similar parallel 2 1989-1992. 2017-2020 match the calendars from 1989-1992. 😱 2020 is 2008 if 2008 was as bad as it could have been. I don't include music in my comparison of the two years.

I never thought anything would beat 2001 and 2008 in terms of shifts.........BUT as we see lol

Even I thought nothing would beat 2001 & 2008. 😂 I remember from 2017-2019, people were saying how 2016 was the most changeful year since 2008. I thought 2016 was transitional, maybe not to the same degree as 2008. Heck some people were comparing 2016 to 2001 cuz of attacks on Muslims, how Trump getting elected that year was comparable to 9/11 & teen pop fizzling out giving way to trap. Shift chart 1997 - minor 2001 - MAJOR 2008 - MAJOR 2013 - minor 2016 - Minor & major 2020 - MAJOR CODE RED

Shift chart 1997 - minor 2001 - MAJOR 2008 - MAJOR 2013 - minor 2016 - Minor & major 2020 - MAJOR CODE RED Would 2003 or 2004, and 2006 be minor shifts as well? I remember fall 2006 feeling different from 2004 and 2005, especially tech & music wise. By fall 2006, it already felt late 2000s, unlike winter 2005/2006 which felt mid 2000s. 2003 is when the Iraq War began, emo began creeping in, crunk blew up with 50 cent, OC blew up, Bush backlash slowly began, Myspace came out. 2004 is when a bunch of 1990s & early 2000s shows ended, Facebook came out, Myspace & emo blew up. Between 2003, 2004 & 2006, I don't know which year was more transitional. yeah 2004 would be because of Emo blowing up as well as Myspace, the way culture shifted was very gradual in 2004 it just sort of happened. 2006 you had the end of The WB network and UPN as well as That 70s show and Malcolm in the Middle (2 key 2000s shows) as well as debut of BlackBerry pearl and Ps3 and wii. Oh.......and I started seeing hipster in new york in late 2006 + Scene started growing. 2003 while had the whole OC surf look shift was very minor and kinda crept in. TLDR I didn't include 2004 or 2006 because the changes happened very softly, if you really think about it every year can have a shift. But the list I put are the ones that shock you out of your seat.

2020 is like an overexaggerated version of 2008. Both years are veeerrrrry alike but 2020 is like a cartoon or nightmare you cannot wake up from compared to 2008.

In 2008, there were all these theories about worst-case scenarios and a lot of them were very frightening. Fortunately, while things were pretty rough they were nowhere near as bad as they could have been. 2020 is the year where the worst-case plays out every time. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me at this point if Trump figures out a way to steal the election because this is just that kind of year.
