Oh of course there are clear differences I’m talking about the most basic identity. Purest early 2010s would be spring 2010 to first half of 2012. late 2009 to very early 2010 was fully 10s but there were a few more noticeable late 00s things. Most of the second half of 2012 was transitional or close to it. Late 2009 - March 2010 still has a visible late 00s atmosphere lingering on despite leaning early 2010s. A lot of people still had scene/flashy looks. Things were getting a bit more relaxed in mid-late 2010 aesthetically. I feel like spring-summer 2010 was when you are really sure the early 2010s arrived. You also started seeing a lot of signature 2010s aesthetics applied in a wider way and a bit more predominant. We got the sense of a bit more of distinctive sense of the 2010s by spring/summer 2010, even though it was there in late 09/very early 2010. restaurants, fonts, graphics, imagery, clothing etc you could feel it better. People totally underestimate this as well. It think this change gets mistaken for taking place in 2011 or 2012 or even 2013/2014 lol

A lot of people totally underestimate the 2010s influence coming in 2010. What would you say would be the purest late 2010s? IMO, it's winter 2017/18 to fall 2018.

Winter 2017 to fall 2018 had much more noticeable mid 2010s holdovers and aspects despite mostly subdued or fading. Winter 2018 to Spring 2019 is the purest late 2010s. Summer 2019 is when you feel stereotypical, and core 2010s elements are much more drastically reduced than anything prior but still somewhat hanging. The late 10s culture is not exactly the same as before but not exactly different enough. Late 2019 to Feb/March 2020: late 10s culture officially a bit different, but no substantial changes, a few connections to mid 2020. Feb/March 2020 to November 2020 the same with COVID - both core, late and stereotypical 2010s culture is slightly more faded than before. Pop culture is kind of frozen, less changeful and hard to grasp. November 2020 : Beginning of a new chapter but unknown.

Back to the topic.
So, 2014-2015 might lean slightly closer to the late 2010s, but it was still a predominantly mid 2010s year with no strong connections to both early or late 2010s.

I can't recall that many things that stick out to me personally from the period, but I kind of prefer it slightly over 2015-2016.

Late 2016 to maybe fall 2017 is probably the only period of the late 2010s t0 have some connections with 2014-2015. After that, it became increasingly disconnected.

Yeah I would say increasingly disconnected but not entirely disconnected. There still are very faded elements of the mid 2010s left and the very base structure left from around mid 2015 or so, isn't exactly completely gone yet imo, even if things are different. .
