I’m not so sure about but I’m willing to place my bet on it. Bedroom pop or Gen Z-flavored indie pop might be the sound of the 2020s. It’s run is similar to the rise of new wave in the late 70s/early 80s.
A lot of the songs that belong to the genre have good views on YouTube and might make an impact a year or two on the charts. Circles by Post Malone might be patient zero of the trend even though he’s not part of the movement. I don’t guarantee bedroom pop will be bigger in the coming years but I won’t be surprised if it does. Here are some examples of the genre:
