1973 - 1979: The Beginning
1979 - 1987: Old School Age (Run DMC, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys)
1987 - 1997: Golden Age (Tupac, Biggie, Dr. Dre, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan)
1997 - 2007: Bling Era (P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Nelly, Ja Rule, 50 Cent, T.I., Lil Jon, Ludacris)
2007 - 2014: Blogging Era (Kanye West, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar)
2014 - now (2020): Trap Era (Migos, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, DaBaby, Lil Baby)
Each era lasted about 7/8-10 years, which makes me think that the Trap Era might transition into something else between 2021 and 2024.
