If we're already in 2021, then: 65 years ago, rock 'n' roll was debuting on the airwaves: 60 years ago, doo-wop was big: 55 years ago, the British Invasion was kicking: 50 years ago, soul was the biggest thing: 45 years ago, disco was the hottest new trend: 40 years ago, new wave was big: 35 years ago, freestyle was taking over: 30 years ago, alternative was turning heads: 25 years ago, neo-soul was everywhere: 20 years ago, nu-metal was huge: 15 years ago, emo was kicking: 10 years ago, dubstep was massive: 5 years ago, trap invaded everything: And 1 year ago was finally behind us It's crazy to think how much music has evolved in only 60 years. Makes you wonder how 2076 will sound like.

I can't believe that songs like Party Rock Anthem, Born This Way, and We Found Love are already 10 years old. I hate being older sometimes....

I think the milestone that blows me away the most is Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" turning 30 years old next September. The '90s alt-rock scene still doesn't feel that old to me, and I can vividly remember as a kid when 1991 was only 15 or so years ago.
2006 being 15 years ago is another milestone that hits me hard. I was 7 that year and it would have to be the first year that well and truly feels like yesterday for me.
