Hello fellow Popedians! Here are the results of the 2020 Popedia Awards: {Spoiler} To the people who voted, I really appreciate that you all took the time to participate in the Awards and cast your votes! If you won a category in this year's awards, remember, you also have the option of being awarded a medal on your member profile if you wish to. Please just let me know below. Unless people want to see it continue, this will most likely be the fourth and final Popedia Awards. We didn't receive as many responses this year as we did in previous years, and I personally got the impression that I was unintentionally forcing it upon everyone to actually take part.

People think I'm funny? Some of y'all need help. Jk. I'm honoured to have won this distinction and the two others. Thank you all who voted for me, I try Congrats to people who won the other categories too. I hope this isn't the last of the Popedia Awards SharksFan99. I think a big problem people had was trying to think of a member, thread or event that would fit the category. If there was a drop down box with all the member names or a limited number of options I think it would have been a lot easier to fill out. I also felt like the voting period started too early, in November I believe. My first reaction was "Is it that time of year already? I'll fill it out later". It might make more sense to start it in December and announce the results at the end of the year or in January, to get people into the spirit of it, so to speak.

I hope this isn't the last of the Popedia Awards SharksFan99 . I can see what you mean, but if a drop down box were to be used, who gets included and who gets left out? Would all of the circa. 45 members who log-in to the forum each day be included in the list? I'm not entirely against the idea of using drop-down boxes, but the thing that concerns me is that if people are struggling to fill out questions, seeing a huge drop-down of different names may be even more off-putting and confusing. Yeah, I can understand how it could be thought of as being a bit too early, but to be completely honest with you, i'm not sure if that's the reason for it. In 2018, the awards actually started in mid-October. The reason why I decided to bring it forward this year is because some members have said in the past that they've been a bit too busy to take the time to fill it out and the activity levels tend to drop off the closer it gets to Christmas. By making it start in mid-November, I thought it would have gave people more time to take part in the awards if they wished to and activity levels were higher, meaning that more people possibly could have chosen to take part. Honestly, I just feel as though most people have lost interest in the concept. In 2018, we received 20 votes and last year we received 21. The 2020 Awards received 14. Some of the people who didn't vote in this year's awards are people who are still active. It's a shame because I do enjoy taking part in the awards myself and coming up with all the different categories, but if most people are losing interest, i'm not sure how it can continue.

The reason I don't vote is because I take no notice of who does what. I just post.

Yeah, congratulations to the winners this year. Nice to see I even got a few votes even though I’ve been considerably less active this year, funnily enough. Thanks guys! I reckon with a few tweaks here and there hopefully the forum awards will return for next year and that more of our fantastic members choose to participate. Anyways, Merry Christmas to everyone. Let’s hope 2021 is a brighter year for us all.
