It's also crazy that 2016 is 5 years old now.
Tropical House was everywhere in 2016 and this is one of the best ones from that genre
One of the biggest EDM tracks of the 2010s.
Dancehall was also big in 2016 and Drake jumped on that bandwagon.

This was a bit of a guilty-pleasure of mine back then, and tbh, it still kind of is. Me and my friend would have 'arguments' during Multimedia over which was the best song off this album.  "Bang Bang" is personally my favourite, but he really liked "Still Breathing". I was massively into this song when it came out though. I liked it so much that I downloaded the mp3 onto a USB stick and blasted it through my car stereo when I was driving around, some people stopped at traffic-lights used to glance over at me, lol. Yeah, one of the worst songs of the 2010s turns 5 this year too!

Kind of scary to me that 2016 is already as old as 2011 was back then. I remember finding the early 2010s already dated feeling. I had graduated high school by then though so maybe that played a role, but I dunno what to think of 2016 nowadays.

Yep, 2016 feels pretty much different at this point. I really miss this time, especially when I wasn't in High school yet

If 2020 didn't suck major ass, I wouldn't be as shocked that 2016 is already 5 years old...but I am. Trap was already a major player in popular music with songs like "Panda" and "Black Beatles" becoming huge hits (sure, trap may have been more fast-paced, but still) and EDM was still big. Time sure does fly by when you're in quarantine.

None of those songs sound old at all. I mean that style of music isn't popular anymore obviously since trends change all the time. But the music doesn't sound 5 years old or dated in any way. It sounds very recent.

We haven't seen much progress in EDM sounds since 2018 or so, that's why songs from 2016 don't sound as dated in 2021 as 2011 songs sounded in 2016.
Might take longer for them to feel REALLY dated, maybe in the late 20s
