My dad was so pissed off when he found out about this. Right now, he wants Trump to be removed immediately, and tried for treason.
As for me, I honestly don't have any emotion, either positive or negative, regarding this incident. Admittedly, I do believe that some of claims these Trump supporters make of fraud in the 2020 election may be plausibly valid given that Biden is preferential amongst the establishment, but I honestly don't care either way, because Trump has done nothing to "drain the swamp" or stop corruption in Washington, and policy wise, he couldn't, due to his capitalist platform which protects corporate mega donors and allows them to pursue business as usual. I also figured that these riots were going to fizzle out eventually, which they did, so nothing major was going to happen out of all of this.
That being said though, the right-wing can no longer claim that it's only the left (BML and Antifa) that riots and loots after this incident, as this very incident will be brought up as a rebuttal.

I think the thing that frustrates me the most is that because Trump has become such a "cult"-like leader, he will more than likely get away with his actions and not receive any criminal convictions, even after his term has finished. There's something seriously wrong with the United States as a country. As an onlooker watching on from the other side of the world, it really bamboozles me as for how there can be such a significant proportion of the population that are too delusional to see the damage that they are causing to the people around them and to their country. Is it any wonder as for why stereotypes exist about America being full of dumb idiots. Obviously that doesn't apply to everyone, but when you consider that people are still defending Trump despite all that has happened and that 68 million people voted for him in the last election, those comments aren't too far off the mark. The United States is one huge embarrassment.

Any comparison of this to BLM is beyond farcical. These guys came with weapons and there were pipe bombs set up around the capitol, like a buncha terrorists. These guys could have easily killed a bunch of people, nothing BLM or Antifa have done even comes close.
