I was thinking about this the other day. In terms of music, the transition between the late 2000s and early 2010s was very drastic and even by the start of 2010, there were very few songs left on the charts that genuinely wouldn't have sounded out of place had they been released during the late 2000s.
"Whataya Want From Me" would arguably have to be one of the best examples of this, I actually quite often mistake it as having been released in 2009 due to its sound. In retrospect, it's hard to believe that such a late '00s-sounding pop-rock song was a legitimately big hit when songs such as "Nothin' On You" and "Baby" were on the charts. This was one of my favourite songs at the time.
Another one from 2010 that was surprisingly a successful Top-40 hit. To me, this would have sounded more at home back in 2008 alongside songs such as Kid Rock's "Alabama" or Nickelback's "Gotta Be Somebody". It's a bit of an oddity for its time.
Can you think of any other examples?

From 2012, but sounds like how electropop sounded like in 2008-10.

It's not even something I can clearly articulate, but this song and Hey, Soul Sister are like my benchmarks for when the decade switch began.

This is kind of a weird one IMO. The electropop synths during the verses and the use of autotune makes it sound like it has greater ties with the early 2010s, but the chorus seems very late 2000s to me. I can see how a song like "Hey, Soul Sister" could be considered as being the song that transitioned the two eras, but I've never thought of "Smile" as being like that tbh.

The song came out in 2010 but to me it sounds more like a 2008 song(still a great song).

Not much really. 2011 and especially 2012 didn't really contain "late 00s" sounding songs. 2010 did have some but still it wasn't as much. Some songs might sound late 00s on the verge of becoming early 2010s. If I had to guess, this song could be late 00s.
