Just from watching the "Carrie" and "Back To The Future" trailers, you can tell that the era of the "blockbuster" had began between the releases of the two films. There's definitely an observable, stylistic shift in the way in which the 1976 and 1985 movie trailers were produced.

I remember around 2001-2007 “Here Comes The Boom” by POD was used in so many action trailers.
Same goes to “The Battle Without Honor Or Humanity” Tomoyatsu Hotei for being one of those songs you hear everywhere but never know the name.

2000s and 2010s movie trailers try very hard to be as epic and bombastic as possible. I find 2010s movie trailers to be very same-ish, with the same type of edits and "BWONG" sounds. It seems older movie trailers were much simpler. I really like movie trailers from the 80s and 90s. A lot of 2000s comedy movie trailers also have this distinct style of editing to them. It makes me nostalgic to see these trailers even if the movie sucks.

Been rewatching some 2000s action movie trailers, and a lot of them have this particular style to them. I’m speaking primarily for the early 2000s, but many of them have metal (especially nu metal) background music, deep trailer voices, quick cuts, stuttering effects, occasional slow motion shots, and flashy CG titles.

Personally speaking, I would be much more interested in a comparison involving the same genre but over different decades. In fact, I might do just that when I get on the computer.

I forget the guys name but he did all the trailers from 01 to 03 " NEW LINE CINEMA PRESENTS" POD or Saliva music plays lol Image of speed boat in the water or car going thru traffic
