Why were there more dramatic changes between 1960-1990 than 1990-2020? 1960 looks like a another planet compared to 1990 despite being 30 years apart. It feels like 1990 and 2020 is still somewhat connected in a more general sense.

I feel like the more time progressives, the less cultural changes we go through.

That's because the 1960s were the MOST transitional decade I think ever, pop culturally, socially, technologically, 1960 and 1969 are different worlds in almost every way.
Comparing 1970-1990 and 1990-2010, it's at least equal difference to eachother.

Easy. The 1960s were the most progressive decade in the 20th century. Television/media, space exploration, race relations, politics, music and pop culture from 1960 to 1969 dramatically and radically changed.

Tech changed way more between 1990 - 2020 though. It's not exactly as black & white as people think.

It's not just tech that changed, it's variety of things that changed between 1960-1990. 1960 had more formal dressing while 1990 was more casual dressing kinda like today. Hip Hop was non-existent in 1960 while 1990, it was a big genre and still is today if not the biggest. Cars were all boxy shape in 1960 while cars made in 1990 were round shape.

Actually, most 1990 and 1991 models seemed to have kept that 1980s boxy car design. They became more round in like the mid 90s.

Only like, 15% of US homes actually had a computer in 1990, they didn't really take off until like 1995ish. The fashion and the Hip Hop I agree with though. Also, technology has a such a huge influence on our lives in 2020 meanwhile, 1990 was mostly a pre-digital and pre-internet world.
