Obviously K-Mart's been on the decline for years, but when were they at their absolute trendiest? When nobody cared about Wal-Mart and just wanted to shop at K-Mart.

Maybe mid 1980s to early to mid 2000s. Hard to know for sure.

It kinda doesn’t sit comfortably within the choices, but I’d say the absolute height was 1988-1993.

K-Mart is in its peak in popularity right now here in Australia. In fact, it is so popular that Target has had to resort to closing down hundreds of its stores across the country as a result of not being able to compete with K-Mart.

It seems like pretty much been massively popular since inception to the 2000s, it seemed more of a go to place since the early 90s onwards for middle class families and better deals and variety for kids toys and clothes. I think in the 2010s it may have a declined a bit because of similar stores offering more sophisticated clothing and home items for the similar prices or less and much more online shopping options and use compared to the 2000s.

But your Kmart has nothing to do with the American Kmart other than the name.
