Nintendo Switch is my favorite console too! I like it more than the Nintendo DS! I’m glad I asked for a Switch for my 21st birthday 2 years ago today. waiting for that new Donkey Kong World game to be announced next month

waiting for that new Donkey Kong World game to be announced next month I have to check out the trailer for that game. I miss Donkey Kong! I used to play it on Nintendo DS back in the mid to late 2000s. DK was more popular than Mario in the mid 90s as crazy as that sounds, the unofficial mascot until Nintendo 64 dropped. DK helped SNES win the 16 bit wars after Sega was beating it's ass.

I agree with 1) Switch and 2) SNES 3) should be NES for what it did for gaming 4) should be Game Boy 5) Nintendo 64 for Super Mario 64 making 3d games template 6) Gamecube

To be fair, the impact the NES/Famicom had on the global gaming market had more to do with timing in Japan and marketing in North America (being marketed as a toy rather than an Atari-like gaming console), plus monopolistic policies to keep the Sega Master System and Atari 7800 underwater in the North American market. Not only that, but the historical significance of a console doesn't necessarily correlate with the gaming experience of it.
In terms of gaming experience, even for its time, the NES was vastly inferior to the Sega Master System in terms of graphics, sound, and even quality of gaming library when factoring in European titles and the fact the Master System is region free. Beyond that, NES games generally don't hold up that well due to the lack of saving feature alongside arcade difficulty (arcade games were extremely difficult on purpose to get consumers to spend more coins). Master System had this issue as well but at least offered a superior arcade experience for the time being to make it more worthwhile.
Similar thing with the Game Boy, great historical impact, but doesn't hold up well today, and even for its time was vastly inferior in terms of graphics, sound, and arguably quality of gaming library to the Sega Game Gear. (Game Gear had battery issues, yes, but it also had a rechargeable battery pack well before the GBASP).

I wasn't even alive when the SNES was released and became popular and it's still my favorite Nintendo console with classic games like Super Mario World, Final Fantasy III, Donkey Kong Country, A Link To The Past, and Super Metroid.

Ah, I see. Yeah, Sega was definitely losing steam by the time Country came out. It's just an amazing console to still look back on.
