7 june 2001, 20 years ago baby me was born. I'm 20 now, not a teenager anymore (officially, haven't felt like a teenager since 2020 at least).
It's pretty crappy to turn 20 in this sh*tty period of time, my life was starting to change a lot in early 2020 (college), and then the covid pandemic happened and it's like i looped back to january 2019. I feel like my life has been the same since late 2018, when i finished HS but didn't go to college.
Now I'm just angry and sad, but I'm excited to be a young adult!!!
And online college has been a pain in the booty.
This is also my first thread, I'm in love with this website, it feels so cozy because everyone knows each other, nice that my first thread will be in my birthday lol.
Here's to never leaving popedia.

Happy 20th birthday 10slover ! Welcome to your 20s! I turned 23 years old last month. I sometimes feel like a teen, less so than I did at age 20. I feel as if I am on the cusp of being close to my teen years and being well into my 20s. Technically I enter my mid 20s in a little over 3 months, but I do not feel mature, ready and responsible to enter them. I still feel like the same person from late age 20. I still have similar fashion and music tastes. I do not cringe much at myself from then like I cringed at my 15 to 19 year old self at age 20. I love my early 20s. My early 20s are an improvement over my teen years. I want to hold onto them as long as I can. I feel old enough to make my own decisions, but young enough to feel like I still got time to figure out what I want to do.

Happy birthday! Turning 20 years old is a big milestone for everyone. I don’t disagree with you when you said that turning 20 in the COVID era is crappy. I remember when I turned 20 last year and I felt the same way but no matter what was going to happen I was still going to pull through and college has been so stressful for me this past year that I just want to quit because of this whole pandemic. Although I do feel stressed about what’s going to happen in the future in terms of schooling, work and how the pandemic is going to be affecting it, I’m not entirely worried about the safety of my well-being because I know that I can surpass any obstacles. For me, being 20 currently does feel borderline adult and teenager because I still can have some connections with talking to teenagers today just not as much when I was 16 or 17 so I don’t entirely feel like an adult but I also don’t entirely feel like a teenager anymore.
Also welcome to Popedia and I’m glad that you love this website so far! Seeing new members join this forum builds the relationship of this community and the people who use it.

Yeah age 20 is transitional. I remember during early age 20, my mom said I act like a minor and am no different from me at 16 to 17 years old, that I can fit in well with them. I had similar music and fashion tastes, but that changed as the year progressed into what I am into now. By late age 20, my mom said I am more mature than I was at age 18. At age 20, I felt 50% teen and 50% early 20s. Age 20 had an even amount of connections to ages 18 to 19 and ages 21 to 22. I liked late age 20 better as I got close to turning 21. By age 21, I felt more early 20s. When COVID blew up around late age 21, that kind of pushed my teens away more. I also replaced my bedroom furniture that I had since my late childhood, making my teens seem even more distant. I also got Nintendo Switch, Affinity and Lifx for my 21st birthday gifts which changed the vibe more. Because of those changes, age 20 seems more like my teens than now. That is kind of like how 9/11 happened in late 2001, making 2000 seem like the 1990s. 2002 is the first full post-9/11 year. Age 22 for me is the first full post-COVID year. Age 23 feels like the twilight of my early 20s and the start of my core 20s.

Happy birthday for yesterday! Hope you had a good day. 20 is sort of a weird age. For me, it was when I started to get over the self-conscious feelings I had during high-school, but I still kind of felt like I was a teen. Being in your early 20s is good because you're an adult and you get to be your own person, but no one expects you to have everything in order; or to get married, or to even know if you want kids. The only thing I really miss about my teens was getting to see my friends everyday at school and not having to think about my future as much, but otherwise, I actually prefer being in my early 20s. So make the most of them! I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying your time on Popedia, by the way!
