Trap has only been charting since 2015 and has changed a lot since then, "Trap Queen" or "Flex (Ooh Ooh Ooh)" couldnt even come out in 2017, let alone today. A lot of genres span 8-12 years if you group them together. Dancehall was huge starting in the early 90s and was still huge in the mid 2000s, the roots of Electropop started in 2006 and it only died completely in 2014. House got big in the late 80s and stopped around the late 90s. I can definitely see Trap's mainstream lifespan being 2015-around 2024 with the peak of Trap being 2019/2020 (turn of the decade). The only genres i can think of that were popular and died in the 2010s are dubstep and drop oriented edm (edm in general is kinda dead in 2021) + tropical house. The rest are holdovers from the 2000s and new genres that are still popular in 2021 Exactly, besides for a few standouts (Disco, Dubstep) most genres transcend the decade they first became popular in. I expect trap to last and continue evolving through the entire first half of the 2020s, seeing it only became popular in the second half of the 2010s (2015).

I love this. I really like 2019. It may not be the best year ever, but it's ten times better than 2020. I hope that the rest of June-second half of 2021 brings back the feeling of 2019 again.

Has anyone notice that Roblox is very popular among core/late Gen Z'ers? I feel like the game would define the Covid-19 era.

It’s just a Gen Z thing in general, not really specific to core and late Z. I knew Roblox since 2008 but it's MUCH bigger now than it was before.

Yeah I remember my friends talking so much about it in middle school in the early 2010s ROBLOX and Minecraft were on the minds of everyone back in my elementary and middle schools in the early-mid '10s as well. I miss it.

You can also include Minecraft revival in the false early 2020s that happened around spring 2019 as a backlash to Fortnite's dominance in the gaming community.
