All I remember is FNAF was EVERYWHERE. You couldn't go anywhere without it being namedropped online or at school. But beyond that, there was definitely a shift, and I can basically pin it down to things like SJW culture blowing up, the rise of 8th gen consoles and death of 7th gen consoles.

Didn't notice any change then. 2014 merely laid the seeds for the collossal summer 2015- 8 november 2016 transition.

Fifty Shades of Grey was released and revamped pop culture as a whole. No more blinding pastel colors, it was all dark and gritty from now on.

Yeah, it had this gloomy feeling, and empty vibe in pop culture, music and film felt really bland, it felt like we are onto something between mid 2013 and fall 2014 and then shit got really empty real fast and slightly different despite still being in the mid 2010s. It find it kind of strange how this is the very first time the original 2010s hipster thing started feeling played out and changing in some minor ways , it was way to early, considering it just took off properly during 2013-2014 after almost being as popular in 2010/2011-2013. By spring 2015 and just starting in winter 14, hipster started loosing its luster and getting more toned down and much more of just an everyday fashion look with more emphasis with things like manbuns and with yuccie and normcore influences modifiying it.

2014 was the first pure 10s year, no influence from the 00s at all anymore
No surprise it was around this time 2000s nostalgia became a thing (albeit extremely niche)

This era was the root of late 2010s culture. A lot of things were starting to dull down.

Also purple SJW hair and SJW vibes really took more shape around this time.

Political correctness, Alt Right vs SJW, conservative vs liberal, republican vs democrat wars became noticeable. I think people started getting overly sensitive and overly offended at this time. 2015 was the year everyone got offended. Politics became dark. Also Republicans dominated in the 2014 elections which kind of led to Trump’s victory in 2016. Obama was still president in 2014, so the 2014 midterms were bad news for him. No wonder his second term was lackluster. Trump also considered running for president in 2014. You started to see the feminist movies like mad max released in mid 2015, feminism was talked about a lot in 2015 in the media that year, kind of like the next issue after gay marriage and before the heated trans topics. Also Star Wars the force awakens has a bit of forced multiculturalism.

Also Star Wars the force awakens has a bit of forced multiculturalism. I noticed that as well. I think some or several movies got released in 2015 that were remakes of 1980s and or 1990s movies. The 2015 version featured a female lead character instead of the male lead characters in the original versions. Movies from the mid to late 2010s to present seem to try hard to push multiculturalism and diversity that it comes of as fake and forced, not genuine. Those movies have to portray diverse groups in positive ways to avoid the risk of being cancelled or offending certain groups. I recall in late 2015 during the holiday season, a lot of people didn’t decorate for Christmas. Most said “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” But then in late 2016, people started decorating and saying “Merry Christmas” again. I read online that Disney recently got backlash for trying to be politically correct. I really wonder when more companies and movies will be called out for being politically correct. I remember “Girl Meets World” premiered on Disney Channel in late 2014, which is a sequel (don’t know the right word to use) to “Boy Meets World.” “Girl Meets World” didn’t last half as long as “Boy Meets World.” In early 2014, a lesbian couple appeared on Disney Channel’s “Good Luck Charlie.” That show concluded in early 2014, so a couple episodes after that one. I think the lesbian and gay stuff started a bit earlier, it's more about the over the top stuff forced pc/sjw culture and forced feminism. 2015 had to have been the first full year. Yes I remember the happy holidays thing. I'm sure there are other movies in 2015, but I can't remember which ones. Some that come to mind: Ex Machina - female lead - not sure if original comics were lead by woman. Spy - female lead - comes across as forced The danish girl - trans movie

Since 2015, movies that try hard to be diverse are embarrassing to watch, especially if my mom, sister and I catch on with the movie trying to feature characters of different colors. We even point it out. That’s how cringe a lot of the 2015 to present movies are. It’s utterly laughable. A lot of the movies being pumped out since then have an agenda which is painfully clear. I'm very confused at how this is a bad thing. Hollywood has always very clearly been homogeneous and overwhelmingly dominated by white executives. It rightfully deversed whatever backlash it got to be more inclusive and give more chances to non-white producers and actors.

A lot of people who complain about "forced diversity" turn out to be alt right racists and bigots in some way shape or form.
