Y'all remember between 2003 to 2006 when every cartoon was trying to be like anime? This was after Toonami blew up in popularity, and when Japanese culture in general was very popular (think movies like The Last Samurai and Tokyo Drift). Just a few examples  Teen Titans (the show that popularized this trend)  As you can tell, the title of this show is RIDICULOUSLY long - Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!  Code Lyoko (people literally called this a French anime, because it's actually from France)  Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi  Of course you've got the most famous example. Literally tons of people used to think this was an anime. I remember anime fans used to get pissed off, but the show's so good they stopped minding   The last truly great show in this category IMO is Kappa Mikey. It's actually a PARODY of anime. There's other shows from this time period that had anime influence like Ben 10, Yin Yang Yo, and Winx Club, but it's not significant enough to be featured here. A lot of stuff on Miguzi and Jetix was anime-influenced. This trend did kinda start to die down in 2007. Anime was no longer as new and exciting as it was in like 2003 or 2004. Toonami wasn't as popular, I mean, this was the year TOM 4 was introduced. Also, we started to see a shift from the anime-influenced era of the mid-2000s to what I like to call the Teletoon era where now the trend was to import everything from Canada and have everything done in Flash, but that's a topic for another time. Also, Japanese culture wasn't cool anymore in the late 2000s. Toonami shut down in 2008, and instead of games like Kingdom Hearts and Devil May Cry being popular, it was all about fucking Call of Duty and Halo type shit. The only thing cool Japanese in the late 2000s was Nintendo.

You are right that there are cartoons that have anime influence, but it's not like it's the hot trendy thing to make cartoons look like anime anymore. The anime boom was coming to an end in the late 2000s, and there was a general backlash against anime-influenced cartoons in general, which helped give birth to what I like to call the "Teletoon Flash" aesthetic. Think shows like Johnny Test, Total Drama, 6teen, etc. Of course then you had the infamous CalArts/beanhead trend. Some cartoons here, like Steven Universe have taken influence from anime, but it's nowhere near as overt. In general, you won't find anybody confusing shows like Steven Universe or Gravity Falls with anime, but you WILL see it with shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, and Code Lyoko.

Wasn't there an anime adaptation of the power puff girls?  I think Japan was at the peak of it's cultural power in the 2000s, more specifically late 90s to 2006. But specially during the mid 00s.

But then their crappy economy and aging population ruined everything.
I can see it coming back as a 2000s Nostalgia thing

Honestly, japanese culture in general was very popular in the 00s. But then their crappy economy and aging population ruined everything. Perhaps they did that because of the tokyo olympics
