I have an ASUS Desktop, which I got for Christmas in 2014, I mainly use it for gaming, although I probably need to upgrade my graphics card soon, which is getting pretty dated (GeForce GTX 750).

I was given a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop in Year 9 and they were pretty crap, "6 hours battery life" pfft more like 1hr-30 minutes. The amount of times I had to take my Laptop into the Technical Support Office (TSO) to get it repaired numerous times...

My current laptop is an ASUS one I got in 2013, probably not the most cutting edge one out there compared to what you can get now but it works adequately enough for the internet and video capturing/editing. Aren't the dodgy Lenovo Thinkpad laptops the ones all high school students got under the Federal Government program on Mr Rudd's watch?

AFAIK, some schools require students to bring their own devices (B.Y.O.D).
