Lenovo's are pretty bad as well. My high school has them and they were rubbish. The loading speeds were incredibly slow. I was given a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop in Year 9 and they were pretty crap, "6 hours battery life" pfft more like 1hr-30 minutes. The amount of times I had to take my Laptop into the Technical Support Office (TSO) to get it repaired numerous times... That's no good. I never received a school laptop, because the Government cancelled the scheme the year I was in Year 9. By the sounds of it, I didn't miss out on much!

My current laptop is an ASUS one I got in 2013, probably not the most cutting edge one out there compared to what you can get now but it works adequately enough for the internet and video capturing/editing. Aren't the dodgy Lenovo Thinkpad laptops the ones all high school students got under the Federal Government program on Mr Rudd's watch? Yep, the scheme started in 2009 until it stopped in 2012. AFAIK, some schools require students to bring their own devices (B.Y.O.D). Haha, well, they were hardly going to give out anything of worth were they? More waste of money.
