I don't like how the start menu is at the center.

I don't like how the start menu is at the center. There will be an option to put it back on the left

Windows 11 reminds me of the fall 2020 Mac OS Big Sur update. I like the push for more skeuomorph designs, even if it coexists with flat designs. I do not want flat designs to dominate the 2020s as it has dominated the mid to late 2010s. At the same time full-on skeuomorph designs may look tacky to people, but not me. I loved the 2000s skeuomorph design. Skeuomorph makes things look more lively and pop. We need that pop back in the 2020s. I don't think skeuomorphism is ever coming back. This flat design is going to be replaced, but not by skeuomorphism

So Microsoft finally unveiled their latest operating system of Windows 11 today. It still looks like 10 but cleaner. What are your thoughts on it? Some screenshots:

Windows 11 looks bolder and the colors seem to pop more. Windows 11 seems like a blend of skeuomorphic and minimalist flat design. It's mostly minimalist but definitely less minimalist than win10 Either way, i wished it was more skeumorphic, i guess we'll have to wait for Apple to launch a neumorphic OS (hopefully)

There are very few (if any) skeuomorphic elements in the UI, although it seems Windows is ditching the hyper simple design language it pioneered in the early 2010s as is evidenced in the new icons, the return of the Windows startup sound. Still far way from Frutiger Aero but the return of the glass style is a nice addition.

It pretty much looks the same as Windows 10.

First impressions aren't great, tbh. As a Windows 10 user myself, I don't see much of an incentive for me to upgrade, and i'm not a fan of the taskbar icons being in the centre.

I agree that Windows 11 seems so uncalled for right now. It still works fine, there are no major security disruptions, it doesn't look old or anything, people are still getting used to it (after being forced to upgrade) No idea why Microsoft now wants to get rid of it.

Wow, Windows 11's system requirements are too high. First they require TPM 2.0 which a lot of computers don't have, so you'll have to buy that, and every PC/laptop released before 2016 are not getting it because it's "too old" even though they're still excellent machines for general use and gaming, wow 😐
