Technology since 2015 feels like software updates, nothing substantial, drastic or major. I remember the transitions from PS1 to PS2 and PS2 to PS3 being exciting. 2000s technological progress is a thrill ride. 2000s cellphones are diverse unlike the 2010s to present. I think it is debatable if the 1990s or 2000s are more transitional technological wise. 1990 and 1999, 2000 and 2009 are different worlds from each other. 2010s technological progress is boring in comparison to the 1990s and 2000s. I noticed by the time the PS4 came out in November 2013, people lost that excitement. I recall people saying that the PS4 is an extension of the PS3 or 8th generation gaming is an extension of 7th generation gaming. Even when the PS5 dropped in November 2020, people were not all that hyped. I guess we will have to wait until 2023 to 2028 for artificial intelligence and virtual reality to influence technology.
Do you feel the same or not?

Because most of the tech changes are bubbling under, waiting to explode.
I know i have repeated this ad-nauseun but the next big thing to change the tech landscape is AI.
There are many AI advancements being made right now, but they still arent ready to be mainstream. You have no idea how big this is going to be. There are AIs out there that can create 3d models and animate them fluidly, there are AIs out there that can create pictures in different styles (essentially making graphical designers useless), there are AIs out there that can create music, all these things will eventually go mainstream. Another big thing that could change our lives are VR and Augmented Reality.
Apple is said to be developing VR glasses and AG glasses, supposedly, they will launch them sometime in the next 4 years.
If Apple does an AG glass, ALL other brands will start doing ag glasses.
I'd say we'll start seeing some major tech changes around 2024.
Edit: Facebook is also trying VR/AG

Specially when you compare them to the greedy 80s and stale 10s

Hey at least one person feels the same. Nah, I'm with you. Technology stopped being special after the 2000s.

1. Diminishing returns
2. Many people probably feel that we have everything we needs in regard to tech and do not need to progress further.
I do hope we see some exciting new tech this decade though. After the normalisation of smartphones and tablets in the early 10s, it's just been the same tech but with newer, sleeker models over and over.

They were stagnant politically, but if anything, that makes them like the 90s and 2000s in a sense.
