Is paparazzi culture still big or is it dead?

2000s was absolutely the peak of paparazzi culture, especially with the whole Britney Spears 2007 meltdown event and celebrities like Paris Hilton. Now we can basically see what these people are doing themselves on their social media, so I guess theres not as much need for a bunch of people to stalk them with cameras anymore, lol.
