Hmmm, people were optimistic about the future, mobile games weren't ass, sites didn't ask for cookies all the effing time, brexit was a distant concept, Bolsonaro was a nobody, social media didn't spy on you.

It was very optimistic and people were more accepting of others. Politics wasn't so divided and bitter like today. The internet was still cool and fun and social media still felt like a novelty. Regular show was in it's prime. Pokemon gen 5.

The early 2010s were a beta version of the mid 2010s. They were simply not this extension of the late 2000s or this crazy unique cut off era imo.
But anyways, here we go:
Less phone and social media consumption Less gentrification in public spaces, just a bit less Pop culture slightly less homogenized, in the sense of diversity Virtually no alt right/new right outside of corners of the internet SJW and vigilante feminists weren't really mainstream Physical movie media and renting had more value and popularity Youtube felt like a smaller and more special place, pre 2013-2014 and post late 2000s (infancy) Gaming nostagia and 80s and 90s pop culture nostagia was more exciting because it was more mainstream than 2000s, for the first time, and not as oversaturated as today
