I’m definitely starting to notice a slight music shift now. IMO pop music is getting a lot better than it was in the late 2010’s.

I don't guarantee this but I think 2022 might be an explosive year for music.

Am I the only one that feels June-September has been relatively quiet and at a standstill pop culturally? Not 2020/2021 as a whole, which has been a large shift. I feel like this is the quiet before the storm that will be winter 2021/2022. Totally getting 2001 vibes all over again.

I don't think it has been quiet at all in fact most of the pop culture shift was happening in the background of Spring/Summer 2021, one of the most prominent is Olivia Rodrigo is the new "it girl" (and yes I know she has trouble holding notes lol) I will agree with you this a sense in the air of pop culture being more ALIVE like Fall 2001, a ton of background action has been happening for some time now to lead up to this event. Listed below are some of the shifts that led up to this cycle. - 2018/2019 underground pop punk shift - Early 2020 Covid 2019 becomes a threat - Machine Gun Kelly releases Tickets to my Downfall in 2020 (pop punk now mainstream again) - Early 2021 Olivia Rodrigo creates buzz - Mid 2021 Olivia Rodrigo becomes the new It Girl - Mid 2021 Billie Ellish backlash - 2021 Willow Smith releases pop punk album - Late 2021 Trap fatigue sets in - Late 2021 Venom 2, Spiderman No way home ( Tobey Maguire's return ) No time to Die 007, Box office movie buzz For the most part 2021 - 2022 school year will have that 2001-2002 " AH POP CULTURE IS FRESH" feeling

Unless there's a worse variant than Delta and the pandemic gets worse in 2022, I hope it becomes the most explosive 2020s year yet. Hopefully by that time, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles can finally be restocked en masse and new musical and other pop culture shifts will happen.

Yeah I just feel that the 2022-2023 shift is gonna massive, comparable to 1991/93 or 1964.

Here’s some songs that sound pretty fresh to me, or at least don’t sound like 2010s songs:
Even the videos for these have a newer feel to them
