In my life time, the most conservative era I have lived through was probably the post 9-11 early 2000s so about late 2001-early 2004.
Most liberal era probably like 2009-2015.

I'd say the late 2010s were the most conservative period of the century so far. The late 2000s or early 2010s were the most liberal.

Portland Oregon is a perfect representation of mid 2010s culture. It’s all mustache-wearing left-leaning hipsters who think American Authors is a good band and only play the most obscure indie games

And Portland IS a very liberal city.

Now that I think of it, the roots of a “woke” and politically correct society stretch back to the late 2000s when Democrats won control of both houses in 2006, Obama won the 2008 election and got inaugurated in 2009. Angry old LGBTQ+ phobic, Christian extremist, sexist white pig supremacist men were angered by this. I bet the backlash against liberalism was growing since then. In the 2010 election, Republicans won both houses. This anger escalated in the 2010s before reaching a fever pitch around 2014 to 2017.
