I don't think so. The Early 2020s has to be craziest era yet since the Late 1960s/Early 1970s. We are living in a Crisis Era.

The early 2020s will be viewed similarly to the early 1930s but even worse. The 2010s were our century's "Roaring Twenties." People were saying similar things about the economy in the late 2010s that they were saying in 1928 and 1929.
As terrible as the '30s were, at least they had some redeeming factors such as the aesthetics, the music, and the movies. It was a big decade for technological innovation.

At least that era had decent music and movies and the economy wasn't in total shambles. The last era even somewhat comparable to what we are going through now was the Great Depression.

People romanticize ww2, why not the early 20s? Do they though? There's a notable absence of nostalgia culture for the first half of the 1940s in comparison to the years that came before and after. Most of the nostalgia dealing with that era is historical in nature and it pertains to the war.

It is very much romanticized today, specially by younger people who don't know sh1t about life in the 40s. It is still a somewhat common setting for period-pieces. It is seen as very patriotic decade. Tho the 40s are usually overshadowed by the 50s. And there was 40s Nostalgia in the 60s and 70s too.

War is different from a pandemic though. It's actually quite easy to romanticize wars, in fact there's literally a trope about it: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WarIsGloriousBut a pandemic? Nah man, can't go outside, people are dying, there's nothing TO romanticize.

I think there will also be a lot of films set in this era in coming decades, similarly to how there is WWII. Times of crisis and upheaval make for great storytelling. However, that's different from this being an era people are nostalgic for and wish they could return to. Maybe it's different for younger people, but almost all '40s nostalgia I have ever come across was heavily focused on the second half of the decade.

The sense of patriotism was still there, and in the 50s for that matter. I honestly don't know why anybody would want to be nostalgic about the first half of the 40s.

I’m gonna be cynical here and say yes. I think the future will be much worse. Climate change is about to kick us in the ass. These are easy times compared to what’s to come.

War time patriotism, Einstein And WW2 is definitely romanticized
