I can agree. I’d say the 2000s in general but yeah if it was one era in that decade that was more sexualized than the others it was definitely the early 00s. I remember hearing the term “sex sells” so commonly in the 2000s because of stars like Britney, Paris Hilton, Shakira etc. It was all about sex/being sexy in the 2000s

Def the 00s. We even had a backlash against it in the 10s.

I remember hearing the term “sex sells” so commonly in the 2000s because of stars like Britney, Paris Hilton, Shakira etc. It was all about sex/being sexy in the 2000s The sexual undertones in pop culture definitely crossed over into 2005 and 2006 with the last traces of revealing clothing being worn by celebrities. Kim Kardashian got famous over a sex tape in 2007 with her own show which proves your point more about the 2000s in general being a sexualized era. The 2000s were before political correctness, SJWs vs Alt Right, conservatives vs liberals, Me Too movement and extreme censorship made their mark on pop culture. Celebrities in the 2000s were trying to rebel, push boundaries and see how wild can they get. Yeah the whole “good girl gone bad” thing really was in back thing. Rihanna even named one of her early albums that. Boys are also not exempt. I feel like some of the raunchy and sexualized content bled into the early 2010s but by the mid 2010s it was kinda gone 2000s raunch: Early 10s raunch (to a lesser degree): Mid 2010s raunch: You can see the transition. Mid 2010s look not nearly as overtly sexual as the 2000s. Early 2010s kind of a mix ig

I can agree with the Early 2000s being "super sexual". If a random person from the 1950s traveled to the early 2000s and saw all of that, he/she would have suffered a stroke. And to some extent first half 2010s. Popular Music since the 1960s for the most part had sexual undertones in most of the songs. So whenever I see people say music today is all about sex, they have been living under the rock. Its been that way for a long time now.

Early 2000s by far, there has never been an era at that extreme extent since

The 2010s saw a phasing out of sexual content which is also around the time political correctness and all the baggage with that made their mark on pop culture. It's definitely been back since around 2019 though. Megan The Stallion, DaBaby, Cardi B...
